Joan Lyons R.I.P.

Joan (left) and some of her good friends before the Kerry NFL game

The Dublin GAA Supporters Club expresses its sympathy to the Lyons family on the sudden passing away of our close friend, Joan Lyons. The thoughts of all Club members are with husband Joe and son, and Committee member, Conor at this time of pain.

Joan has been a huge supporter of the Club and dear friend for many years. She has travelled with us on our busses around the country and was a constant attendee at our Player of the Year Awards. We particularly enjoyed her banter with Sean Óg this year.

Whereas we stood with Joan on Hill16 at football games, it will be our memories of Joan recounting her pride at Hurling, Ladies Football and Camogie success that will remain with us. Her delight with the Hurlers success this year, particularly this years draw with Kilkenny stands out. Her love of Ladies Football and Camogie have made Joan a true Dub, the best kind of fan any county could ask for and a very dear friend.

Joan - We will miss you at games this summer but we will keep a place for you alongside us on the Hill.

Joan's remains will arrive at St. Brendan’s Church, Coolock at 5.30 pm on Tuesday 15 May with the funeral mass taking place at 10.00 am on Wednesday 16th May. No flowers by request.
