Mick Holden RIP

The Committee and members of the Supporers Club extend their sympathies to the Holden family on the sudden death of former Dublin hurler & footballer Mick Holden.

Mick was a true legend of the game, a character, a hero, one who put his body on the line in every game for the Dubs. A huge hurling fan who took huge pride in seeing this year's U21 team progress through the championship. He will be remembered particularly for his efforts in the 1979 Leinster Football Final in leading a rear guard action to see Dublin home and poignantly as a true leader of the 1983 "12 apostles".

This year Mick was coach to Cuala's Minor hurling team and had just reached the championship semi-final. He will not be forgotten.

Next year he would have appeared on Final day with his fellow Dubs celebrating 25 years since the '83 success and his blond hair will sadly be missed.

Ní bheidh a leithid arís ann.

Ar dheis Dhé go raimh a h-Anam.
