Kilmacud Crokes 1-11 Navan O'Mahony's 0-07
Kilmacud Crokes raised their game in style & in what was arguably their best performance of the championship brushed aside the challenge of Navan O'Mahony's. The Royal boys got off to a good start recording the 1st scores but Crokes soon found their game & with relentless pressure held the men from Navan scoreless for the rest of the half.
Brian Kavanagh was a contstant threat through the half with Mark Vaughan covering every blade of grass a goal was in the offing. Mark Davoren was the man getting on to the end of a floated in ball punching home. Into half time with a seven point lead.
There were some nerves in the crowd at the start of the 2nd when O'Mahonys rallying & memories of a temporary collapse the last day out. Bu with Mark Vaughan kicking a sublime point from an impossible angle from the Golf Club Terrace side, Navan were never able to get below a 4 point deficit. Crokes went up a gear & ran out 7 point victors.
