The Supporters Club Player of the Year Awards will take place in the Regency Hotel on Friday 16 February from 20:00, tickets prices €40.
The Awards ceremony has been the major function undertaken by the Club each year and it is fair to say that the event last year in the Regency Hotel was a major success. A large attendance, very good food, pleasant surroundings, plenty of car-parking and an enthusiastic response from the players made the night a special occasion and we genuinely believe that this year can be even better.
Awards will be presented for Camogie, Football, Hurling, Ladies Football, and Minor Player of the Year in memory of Robin Kivlehan. This year the Club will also make presentations to recognise our All-Ireland success in Camogie and U16 Ladies Football last year. Additionally, in memory of John O’Neill, a presentation will be made to recognise an individual who has contributed to the development of gaelic games in the county. Whereas there will always be debates around our best ever footballer and hurler, this year it is intended that the award will go to the undisputed voice of gaelic games in the county, Seán Óg O’Ceallachain. Seán is a worthy recipient for his time as a player, journalist and broadcaster and it is fitting that Dublin supporters recognise his love and passion for games in the county.
The Committee is confident this years awards will be better than before and encourage members to come along to what is a fantastic event and thank our players in person for their efforts over the previous 12 months. Phone 8403078 to book your tickets now.
