Dublin v. Meath - MFC Result
DUBLIN 2-11 MEATH 1-7
Dublin's U21s may have exited to the old enemy earlier this year, but the Blues triumphed in this MFC 1st round encounter. Dublin were the better team through the game but a 1st half injury time goal for the Royals kept the crowd on edge throughout. With a game behind them Dublin will improve and hopefully can bring home All-Ireland success since the Paul Clarke era many moons ago.
DUBLIN - John Dignam; Rob O'Loughlin (James Edwards (45)), Rory O'Carroll, David Lynch; John Cooper, Sean Casserley, Niall Brogan; Karl O'Connor (0-01), David Moher (Shane Moore (50)); Mark Coughlan, Felim McMahon (1-01), Brendan Staunton (0-04); Barry O'Rorke (0-04), Shane Gallagher (1-00), Ted Furman (0-01).
MEATH - P O'Rourke; J Martin, D Maguire, C Malone (E Woods (35)); M Battersby, G Reilly, D Smith; P Kelly (0-01), D Ryan (T Johnson (60)); N Heffernan (1-00) (A Newman (40)), J Brodrick (0-01), E Callaghan (C Mallon (65)); S Dervan, M Newman, B Sheridan (0-05).
