Pat Gilroy makes a number of team changes for Sunday’s NFL game vs. Mayo. Michael Savage gets some game time in the nets replacing Stephen Cluxton who made some great saves the last night. In a surprising switch David Henry who has been selected to date as a half forward returns to his corner back slot in place of Paddy Andrews, who is on U21 duty on Saturday. Bryan Cullen comes in at the expense of James Brogan while Declan Lally starts in the half forward line after a series of recent impressive substitute appearances.
Starting 15:
Michael Savage (St. Vincent’s)
David Henry (Raheny), Denis Bastick (Templeogue Synge Street), Alan Hubbard (Ballymun Kickhams),
Bryan Cullen (Skerries Harps), Ger Brennan (St. Vincents), Barry Cahill (St. Brigids),
Ciaran Whelan (Raheny), Ross McConnell (St. Oliver Plunketts/ER)
Diarmuid Connolly (St. Vincent's), Kevin Bonner (St. Brigid's), Declan Lally (St. Brigid’s)
Blaine Kelly (St. Mary's Saggart), Conal Keaney (Ballyboden St. Endas), Bernard Brogan (St. Oliver Plunketts/ER).
David Henry, Ross McConnell, Barry Cahill, Bryan Cullen, Ger Brennan, Ciaran Whelan, Bernard Brogan, Conal Keaney, Kevin Bonner all started against Mayo in their last meeting in Castlebar in 2007 while Diarmuid Connolly came on as a substitute that day. Dublin lost out that day. Here's hoping Ballina proves a happier hunting ground.
