Dublin 1-15 Wexford 2-15
Dublin's quest for that elusive Leinster SHC Final appearance continues as Wexford's experience & physical emphasis saw the Yellow Bellies home on a stormy day in HQ. Dublin, playing into a gale in the 1st period, must have been hopeful opening up an early 4 point lead & showed true grit when Dotsy powered to the net to level an earlier goal from Stephen Banville. Dotsy took a very late blow after netting and this was to be the story through the game. Dotsy & Ross O'Carroll were subjected to much heavy treatment & fi we are to grow our game it is essential that all players are given the necessary protection. A goal from Wexford coming up to half time sounded warning bells & when they pulled out to six points up Dublin were struggling. To their credit the Blues gave it everything and but for some poor shot selections who knows what the result might have been. Playing with an extra man Dublin dragged it back to three points and but for a great Fitzy save from Dotsy the result might have gone the other way. Credit where it's due. Dublin are improving, there are a number of youg stars shining, and Leinster need to be looking over the shoulders as the Boys in Blue are coming to get you next year.
